Penuria is a Funeral Doom Metal music project from Chile created by Leonardo Signorelli and Juan Pablo Sanhueza in 2010, both composers and multi-instrument players. With a self-production, Penuria succeeds in drawing attention within the Chilean Doom Metal music scene.

Penuria's music takes us through a complex journey of atmospheres that temper the soul in depressive tranquility and moments of tension that transport you to anguish and despair, opening your consciousness through the lyrics of the songs to a new way of observing life and death.

All of this gives life to a special music composition, unique and avant-garde. The music of Penuria is a step through the fusion of diverse styles, where you can come across several tendencies of its members, generating those peculiar musical environments filled with melodies, from the most simple to the most complex.

Penuria's first work was put out to light in April 2009 with the song "Time is Agony", this song positions Penuria within the Chilean Funeral Doom scene.

Shortly after its release, "Time is Agony" is considered to become part of the first Chilean Doom metal compilation created by the Doom, Death, and Darkness forum. In this compilation, we can see Penuria sharing the scene alongside bands with recognition such as Poema Arcanus, Mar de Grises, Electrozombies, among others.

Penuria releases their debut album “Vulnerant omnes, última necat” on December 12th, 2011, which includes 5 songs that will take you on a journey where you will live, die, and disappear in the infinite emptiness.
